Video: Javelin thrower Hollie Arnold inspires Caudwell Children charity

INSPIRATIONAL former Louth student and Holton le Clay resident Hollie Arnold is the star of a new promotional film for a children’s charity.

The amazingly talented javelin thrower is waiting to hear if she will be in the Great Britain Paralympic team this year.

She is Junior World Champion in javelin, shot and discus. After beating competitors in her division, she won a bronze in the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing and recently won gold at the World Championships.

Hollie relocated to Wales several years ago to be near her coach.

The promotional film shows her preparing to perform.

It was made for Caudwell Children which provides equipment, treatment and therapies for sick and disabled children across the UK.

The charity’s Enable Sport Programme in partnership with Barclays Wealth provides gifted and talented disabled children and young people with the specially adapted equipment they require to take part in competitive sports.

Hollie is one of the athletes supported by the programme and she is a child ambassador of Enable Sport.

Children with sporting potential can apply to receive donations such as individually adapted sports wheelchairs worth around £3,000, hand bikes worth around £1,000, and training equipment to support them in their development.
