People living in East Lindsey have until December 31 to show their support for Louth market in a national competition.
Voting has begun in The National Association of British Market Authorities’ search to find Britain’s best market and East Lindsey District Council is encouraging residents to show their support for the markets in the area by casting their votes at www.nabma.com
The District Council run markets in Louth, Horncastle and Spilsby have been entered into the competition.
Coun Craig Leyland, Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at East Lindsey District Council, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local residents to get behind our local market and demonstrate how important their role is in the local area. Please take two minutes to vote before the deadline and ensure our District is well represented in the final results.”
Market Trader Mike Foreman said: “Our markets play a vital role in the viability of towns. We’re extremely lucky to have such well supported markets and I would encourage people to support our local markets by voting. It would show visitors how prestigious our markets are and encourage more people to visit the local area which would support the small shops and businesses as well.”
Louth’s popular market is on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
