Well known Mablethorpe man Vic Robotham ‘will be sadly missed’

MABLETHORPE was sad to hear of the death of local man and ‘good friend’ to many, Victor ‘Vic’ Robotham, who died on April 26 aged 70.

Vic worked for the old Whitehead’s Caravan Park in Mablethorpe for many years before going on to work for Anglian Water and more recently as a fireman and on farms.

Friend and neighbour Brian Grindrod said: “Vic lived in the Mablethorpe area all his life, and for the last few years in Golf Road.

“He was a good friend, very helpful and what people have called a ‘typical yellowbelly’.

“He was well known in the farming community, he’ll be sadly missed.”

Vic leaves behind two daughters, Julie and Jane, as well as two grandchildren.

His funeral was held at Alford Crematorium last week where, fittingly, Vic’s coffin was carried to the crematorium on the back of a tractor.
