WI ladies learn about crochet history

TWENTY two members of North Thoresby and District WI enjoyed a talk on the history of crocheting at their latest meeting.

Affer business had been attended to, members sat back as vice-president Margaret Dawson discussed crocheting and showed examples of her latest work before encouraging members to have a go themselves.

The competition for a crochet or knitted item was won by Doreen Cheese with Sheila Houseman second while joint third were Debbie Pattulo and Angela Hawkins.

The raffle was won by new member Joan Smith.

August’s meeting, traditionally a Ploughman’s Lunch, will take place on August 9.

The next full meeting will be at 7.30pm on September 4 in the village hall.
