THE South Willingham Parish Hall Management Committee has now launched the new session of it’s Willingham Winners Club and it includes the Willingham Winner Bonanza of a special prize of £100 for the owner of the lucky ticket drawn in December.
A draw is made every month and with the prize to be offered in 2012 never less than £50, and tickets costing just £12 for the year, it is well worth becoming a member while also supporting the work of maintaining the Parish Hall.
The manager is Jan Crouch and she can be contacted on 01507 313428, don’t delay as there is a maximum of 100 tickets available. The funds raised help to cover running costs as the Management Committee encourages community spirit by arranging regular events for parishioners to get together including twice monthly coffee and chat mornings when there is no charge made and as many other events as possible are organised including the History Group and the Reel Issues film evenings where no charge is made for the use of the hall.
In order for this to continue funds must be raised to cover the fixed costs, especially for insurance and winter heating. The hall has recently been refurbished, using the fantastic legacies left by former residents Frank and Jill Lacey who lived opposite the building during their married life and who remembered the Parish Hall where they had spent many happy hours at social events when they made their wills.
This money left was specifically to be used for making improvements to the hall, not to cover running costs and so the committee must continue to organise fundraising events to ensure that the hall can be available for use by the community for social occasions. The last winners of the session which has ended were Andrew and Helen Appleton and Joe Donocik.
