Wind did not break New Year tree tradition

It’s a tradition in Wragby to see in the New Year by joining hands around the Market Square’s Christmas tree and singing Auld Langs Syne.

Last week the high winds got the better of this year’s tree and snapped it at the base.

But this did not stop revellers continuing with tradition by seeing in 2014 singing around a miniature artificial Christmas Tree.

A fireworks display arranged by Rodney Alcock, landlord of the Ivy Inn, also lit up the square at midnight.
