St Margaret’s CE Primary School, Withern, organised their own Race for Life earlier this month, raising £104.28 for Cancer Research UK.
The whole school ran, walked or jogged around the school field, and Key Stage 2 children then ran to the river in the village and back.
Afterwards, all children, parents and grandparents were presented with their Race for Life medal.
Mrs Marshall, PE co-ordinator, said: “We decided to host our own event this year at school and invite parents, carers and members of the local community. I believe that almost everybody has been affected by cancer and this was our chance to help.
“It was wonderful to see children from as young as five, parents and grandparents taking part and all the staff at St Margaret’s joining in.”
