Yarn bombing in Louth

Louth has been yarn bombed!

Knitted creations have been strung up around town - in the Market Place and opposite St James’s Church in Bridge Street.

The famous nude sculpture near the church has even been given a knitted jumper!

The amazing knitted creations have been put around Louth for the Zero Degrees Festival, which starts this Friday.

They have been made by the nit and natter group at M&G Designs in Little Eastgate.

The ladies have also made the fabulous knitted hanging baskets that hang outside the shop.

Yarn bombing, also known as urban knitting, is street art using colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint.

It started in the Netherlands and has spread worldwide.
