In the pipeline

EDITOR – Having viewed Anglian Water’s plans for a 40-mile underground pipeline from Covenham to Boston at a cost of £40 million. It occurred to me that this is an ideal opportunity for ‘partnership working’.

Is it not possible that the proposed electricity cable required to connect the offshore windfarms to the National Grid could be laid in the same trench, thereby avoiding the threatened overground pylons?
