Just let the people decide

EDITOR – I’m writing in reference to the proposal by LB Mablethorpe Lindum Group.

I think it’s a great idea and would love to see a supermarket and filling station as currently I travel to Skegness to do my food shopping at Tesco and competition for the one and only filling station can only be a good thing for fuel prices as right now they can pretty much charge what they want.

However, I do think we need to get more people’s opinions on this matter and the fairest way is some kind of voting system.

As it affects every resident of Mablethorpe a simple voting system should put an end to the debate once and for all. I mean, how hard can it be to get a slip with a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the Lindum project on it posted through every resident of Mablethorpe’s letter box?

Then they could be taken to a poll box at the library or somewhere like that and counted up and for once we would actually see what the majority want instead of the minority thinking they rule this town and speaking for eveyone in it!

Let the people who live in this town decide what’s best for it for a change.

Let the people decide – end of!
