LETTER: More homes being built despite flooding!

Once again, the residents of Louth have been impacted by flooding. This has become an almost regular occurrence. It is quite clear that Louth’s infrastructure is too old
and incapable of caring properly for Louth’s current population

Yet despite this, virtually every field surrounding Louth is ’up’ for planning permission to build thousands of new houses. When these fields are covered in concrete, the ability of the soil to absorb water will be almost nil and the run off from rain will be sudden and far more devastating.

Surely, no body in their right mind, could contemplate, even for a second, the covering of our fields with houses
