Was drought the problem?

EDITOR – Recent pictures show the water level at St Mary’s pond, Mablethorpe, is rising and this could mean that drought was the cause of water loss and not holes in the lining.

If this is the case, with more rain due in the next few days the water level should rise even further and this could prove there wasn’t a problem with the lining after all?

Perhaps the council should monitor the situation more closely before deciding that a new lining is required; especially in the present economic crisis.

Clearly in a few short weeks the water level has risen considerably.
