ALFORD Wheelers had two riders taking part in an Open 10 mile Time Trial promoted by the City Road Club, Hull, on a course along the A63 dual carriageway near North Cave.
Conditions were near perfect for the 150 competitors, and the Alford pair recorded brilliant times - Chris O,Rourke knocked 16 seconds off the All Time Club Record with a time of 20 minutes 40 seconds, while his team mate Craig Lamb recorded a time of 21 minutes 10 seconds. He had set the previous Club Record back in September 2000.
The first of a series of four circuit Time Trials was held on Thursday evening on the Aby-Authorpe-Muckton course, the Seniors having to complete two laps of this nine mile circuit.
The fastest rider was Phil Heyes, who covered the 18 miles in 45 minutes 47 seconds, with Eddie Kaye second in 46.17 and Simon Geraci third in 46.58.
Other top 10 placings were: 4th and 1st Junior Peter Rothery 48.02; 5th Simon Needham 48.17; 6th Ben Foxwell 49.30; 7th Brendon Thomas 50.03; 8th Tyler Wright (Under 16) 50.15; 9th Ryan Thomas(under 16) 51.43; 10th. Richard Mumby 51.58.
The one lap U16s event was won by Sam Wood in 27.16, with Michael Rothery runner-up in 27.46 and Eddie Keyes third in 28.30.
Fourth was Chris Hill 29.49, fifth Bruno Gillick 33.45, sixth Anthony Wadsley, seventh Joel Martinez 37.25.
