LOUTH’s Arran Brindle had a quiet game with the bat and ball but made two key catches as England’s women earned a 48-run win over New Zealand at Seddon Park Hamilton on Sunday.
Brindle scored just four with the bat before being caught by Liz Perry leaving the visitors on 135-4. She also bowled four wicketless overs for 25 runs as England bowled the hosts out for 118.
She did however pick up the catches of Broadmore and Tahuhu as New Zealand struggled to get to grips with England’s 166-7.
Friday’s opener saw England claim a comfortable six wicket victory with Brindle hitting six runs before being clean bowled.
The thid game of the series will be played at Auckland’s Eden Park on Wednesday.
