Emphatic home win for Louth Old Boys FC Under 9s

Louth Old Boys FC Under 9s started 2013 off as they finished 2012 – with an emphatic home win at London Road against Welton FC U9s.

LOB got off to a dream start as Ben Grist burst through from midfield to score in the second minute.

Gregory Freeland made it 2-0 soon after to record his 10th goal of the season.

Welton were by no means out of the game however and created some good chances to score themselves. They were rewarded when Michael Baldwin unluckily turned a cross into his own net just before half-time.

LOB U9s came out with real purpose at the start of the 2nd half scoring 5 goals in the first 15 minutes.

Jack Lyons scored a well-deserved hat-trick inside 10 minutes, Mikey Baldwin made up for his earlier error with a fine strike from the edge of the box and Ben Grist netted his 2nd of the game.

Welton managed to score a 2nd goal before Ben Grist completed his hat-trick & Ryan Scamen scored his first goal for the team to round off a great 9-2 victory.

That’s five wins in a row for LOB U9 and sets up a great 2nd half of the season for them in the Mid-Lincs under 9 League.
