Young Louth footballers met legendary Liverpool striker Ian Rush after winning a prestigious tournament.
Louth Old Boys Under 15s won their age group at the ESF Festival of Football tournament in Skegness, going unbeaten to top their mini-league.
A 1-1 draw with Manor FC was enough to earn them the title and an audience with Rush who presented them with their silverware.
Louth Old Boys automatically qualify for the ESF Finale later this year at the University of Warwick Football Centre. More than 1,100 teams take part in the festival every year.
Team manager Darren Ainscow said: “It’s been a great experience for us all and one which I’m sure the lads will remember for years to come.
“We put in some tremendous performances on the pitch, and for the team to meet Ian Rush topped off a fantastic weekend.”
