FOOTBALL: Mixed cup success for Alford and Louth Old Boys

Alford Town U18s are through to the next round of the Steve Asher Memorial Charity Cup after Jamie Wolstenholme scored a brace in their 2-1 win over Bottesford Town.

But Louth Old Boys U18s crashed out of the quarter finals of the same competition, going down 4-1 at home to Harrowby United, Xorlanho Avevor the only scorer for the home team.

Both teams are back in cup action this weekend. On Sunday Alford travel to face Gainsborough Trinity in the second round of the Andrew Bandelow Memorial Cup, 1.30pm kcik off, while Louth Old Boys travel to Appleby Frodingham for a Lincolnshire FA County Cup quarter final.
