Louth Old Boys U15s were back in action at the weekend after a three week break and were presented with new training tops by Raj, Harri and Shaan from Kenwick News in Louth.
Louth were up against last season’s champions, Retford FC and if the boys were to keep their record of winning maximum points so far this season, they were going to have to be at their very best.
The first 10 minutes went according to plan as Retford barely got past the half way line, but as time went by they grew in confidence and started to pressure the Louth goal.
In the second half it was much of the same with both teams hitting the crossbar and both goalkeepers pulling off some stunning saves.
Louth’s leading scorer, Ryan Worrel, with five minutes remaining on the clock scored the decisive goal.
To Retford’s credit, they finished the match all guns blazing, but with the whole team defending, Louth Old Boys kept their record of taking maximum points from the first seven games of the season and remain at the top of the league.
