Louth Town to face new cup opponents after Shirebrook are thrown out over ineligible player row

Louth Town will now face Staveley in the Baris NCEL League Cup quarter-finals next week after Shirebrook Town were thrown out of the competition.

The NCEL chiefs have ruled that Shirebrook Town fielding a cup-tied player in their third round 3-1 at home to Staveley Miners Welfare last month.

Mark Wall, who had previously played in the competition for Worksop Parramore this season, took part for the Division One club.

As per Rule 7.2, Shirebrook have been disqualified from the competition subject to an appeal and fined £100 and Staveley have been re-instated.

Staveley will now visit Park Avenue in the quarter-finals on Wednesday, March 27.
