Louth Town youngsters hit Boston for eight to stay in title hunt

A SECOND big win in as many weeks continues Louth Town U13’s push for the title as they thrashed Boston Mayflower 8-0 at their Saltfleetby home on Sunday.

Visitors Boston were buoyant after a 16-0 win last week but fell behind early on when Ryan Bingham finished a loose ball after Thomas Evison’s inviting cross.

And the same player made it 2-0 shortly after when he was played clear through by Joe Wrisdale who wriggled past four defenders to find the striker.

Town were flying and made it 3-0 when Tom McGrath controlled the ball well in the middle of the park and split the defence with a through ball for Wrisdale to finish.

And Bingham completed his first half hat-trick when he finished at the back post from a weaving run and cross by Harry Margeson.

And that wasn’t it, Town hit their fifth just before the break when a Tom Williams corner was nodded on by Wrisdale and flicked in by Margeson.

The young White Wolves started the second half as they’d finished the first when Evison turned goalscorer. A brave clearance from the Boston goalkeeper fell to Wrisdale who managed to flick the ball into Evison’s path to make it six.

And it was seventh heaven for Town when Wrisdale nodded in his 30th of the season before Tom McGrath smashed home a late eighth from close range.

It was another crushing win for Town who still harbour hopes of the title with two games in hand onleaders Navenby who they will face in a title decider on the final day of the season.

Deserved man of the match was Ryan Bingham whose fifth hat-trick of the season takes his tally to 34 goals from just 19 games.
