Over 1,200 players played more than 100 hours of combined football over 762 matches on 13 pitches at London Road over the weekend in the annual Louth Old Boys five-a-side tournament.

Entrants were as young as eight and teams ranged up to adults with teams travelling from across Lincolnshire to take part.

There were even two teams from La Ferte Bernard in France, Louth’s twin town.

The weekend, the largest of any such tournament in Lincolnshire, raised vital funds for the club’s junior teams for next season.

Despite the baking hot weather across the weekend there was great enthusiasm from all the players, coaches and organisers.
