LOUTH cadet driver Lucas Vaus, 10, from Louth had some good success at Whilton Mill kart club in Daventry in the fifth round of their club championship.
This was the first time the youngster had burned rubber at the circuit in 18 months.
After the qualifying to determine grid positions for the 17 minute final, Vaus qualified on P4 out of a total of 34 cadets in the race also setting the fastest lap in heat two.
The top six cadets pulled a gap from the rest of the field and put on a great display of racing, Vaus moved up to P2 on lap four and then chased down the leader Eddie Hack from Birmingham.
On lap 14 they caught six of the back markers and had to make their way through the field, Vaus lost around 2.5 seconds which gave Hack enough time to build a lead.
Eddie Hack took the flag and the win, Vaus taking second spot and Joseph Smith from Kent taking third place.
