Louth CC First XI finally began their Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League campaign after the previous weekend’s washout but may have wished they hadn’t after being bowled out for the day’s lowest total.
Travelling south to face Sleaford, Louth managed just 78 as they slumped to a seven-wicket defeat.
Wicketkeeper Graeme West top scored with 21, but the only other batsmen to make double figures were openers Laurence Scott (10) and Sebastian Darke (15). For the hosts, there were three wickets apiece for Shaun Morris (3 for 10) and Thomas Shorthouse (3 for 8).
In reply, Andy Carrington (2 for 21) removed both openers, and when Jack Wilson was run out soon after the hosts had stuttered to 47-3. But South African import Obus Pienaar (25 not out) saw the hosts to a convincing win inside 21 overs.
