Louth Third XI were bowled out for 149 as their run chase fell short against East Halton on Saturday.
The home skipper Paul Fox won the toss and put Halton into bat in the Lincolnshire County League Division Four match.
Halton openers Kev Wright (55) and Matt Lord (30) gave their side a dream start, and received good support lower down the order from Adrian Jack (33) and Harris Charalambous (20).
But first change bowlers Russ Hayward (4 for 37) and Luke Johnson (2 for 49) did not let them get away completely and helped to restrict the promotion-chasing side to 202-8 from their 40-over allocation.
Matthew Elston (16) and Sam Chatterton (15) gave the home side a decent start, but Halton opening bowlers Adam Parker (2 for 29) and Mike Roberts (2 for 24) between them removed the top four cheaply.
Hayward provided stubborn resistance with 28 as the rest of the middle order fell away, but the Louth tail wagged.
Luke Johnson top scored with 32, while number 10 Sam Ellis hit an unbeaten 21 before Jack (3 for 24) wrapped up the innings, dismissing the home side for 149.
Louth lay fifth, seven points behind Keelby, but just two points above Caistor, while Halton are handily placed in third.
