ATHLETICS: Mablethorpe’s Wayne is on the road to recovery

Mablethorpe Running Club’s Wayne Kew was one of the 139 entrants that took part in the inaugural Louth Triathlon.

The race consisted of a 400m swim, 22km bike and a 6km run. Wayne has spent much of 2014 recovering from injury but is now in good form for all athletics as he proved, finishing in 20th position in an impressive time of 1h 18m 03s.

Brother and sister Archie and Ellie Rainbow recently completed the Lincoln Wellington Athletics Club Summer Series of races hosted by LWAC at Yarborough near Lincoln.

Archie (U13 boys) competed in all four 3k races and came 1st overall, recording his best time of 12m 25s.

Ellie (U11 girls) also took part in all four 1k races, finishing fourth overall.

In the recent Tennyson 8 multi terrain race Mablethorpe RC’s Nigel Booth and Tammy Rainbow were among the 100 runners, Nigel finishing 11th in 57m 39s and Tammy 22nd in 1h 02m 13s.

The race was won by Ben Livesy (Notts AC) in 45m 51s. The 1st female was Kerry Stainton (Louth AC) in 58m 45s (13th overall).
