Border Motor Club rallying at Cadwell Park

BORDER Motor Club brings rallying back to Cadwell Park on Sunday April 8 after a break of eight years and their inaugural event has received over 50 entries, including three World Rally Car Subaru Imprezas.

Seeded at number one is Roger Duckworth from Towcester, a former national rally champion, who has recently won the Rallye Sunseeker for the 4th, and 2nd consecutive, time and part of his prize was an all expenses paid trip to Sol Rally Barbados.

Car two is Graham Coffey, a Manchester based solicitor who spends 80% of his working week on motoring cases, but relaxes at the weekend with rallying. He is currently competing in the MSA Asphalt Rally championship.

David Turnbull from York is the driver in the third one of these cars, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end of the day.

Also entered are previous winners at this venue Yuk Hodgson and Dave Holland, both in rapid Ford Escorts, along with many others who competed on the South Bank MC events held there in the 80’s & 90’s, and are looking forward to using the circuit again for rallying.

Rally crews from Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Mablethorpe have entered their local event, and one team is even travelling from Northumberland to enjoy the challenge of the venue.

The organising team are spending the days before the event setting out the stages, sending out the final instructions, creating marshals packs and ensuring everything is in place so that competitors and spectators can have an enjoyable day’s motorsport

Entries are being taken up to the day of the event and marshals can still volunteer to assist. See for further details.

Spectators are welcome at the event which starts at 9am; tickets are available online at or at the entrance gate on the day.
