Kingfishers sit pretty at the top of the Louth Indoor Bowls Club Morning Triples league, division 2, after their 11th win from 13 games.

But they only ensured their 18-13 victory on the final end against an inspired Saints team who prop up the table.

Sleepwalkers remain five points behind in second spot after their comfortable 19-8 win against Pips, but third-placed Louth lost ground when beaten 14-13 by next-bottom Wise Guys, who moved three points clear of Saints.

Fledglings moved up two places to fourth with a 17-8 win over Doves.

Derek Blow and Liz Draper remained unbeaten in division 2 of the Tuesday Mixed Pairs after their 16-7 victory over John Williams and Doreen Dyson.

But they only have a one-point lead over the next four pairs and just two points separate the leading duo from seventh-placed pair Michael Wood and Eileen Rayner, who beat Tony Wilson and Pat Wolley 23-3. In the only other game to be played Robin Barrow and Sue Gurbutt beat Len & Sheila Robinson 16-5.
