Two wins for Highgate Wanderers at Louth Indoor Bowls Club moved them to the top of the Morning Triples league, but only on shots difference.

They outplayed The Jays to win 23-5 and then came through a tougher game against Dreamers 13-10 after they had been 8-1 behind early on.

Second-placed Oaks lost their unbeaten record when going down 12-11 to Mudlarks, but returned to form to win 18-12 against The Jays.

After losing 13-9 to In A Minute, Two Plus One moved to third by snatching a 14-13 victory over Mudlarks after being 13-9 behind, the result dropping the beaten team from first to fourth, such is the close battle in the early weeks.

Seagulls lost 28-9 against Dreamers but managed a 13-8 win over In A Minute to stay one place off the bottom thanks to a better shots difference than The Jays.

Friday night sees the club’s Annual Presentation Evening when the lucky few collect their trophies. The start time is 7.30pm.
