BOWLS: No change at top of Louth Indoor Morning Triples

There was no change in the top two positions after last week’s results in Louth Indoor Bowls Club’s Morning Triples league with Oaks maintaining their two-point advantage over Highgate Wanderers.

Both teams won their first game, Oaks beating Seagulls 14-8 while the Wanderers won 15-7 against In A Minute. Wanderers then suffered a 19-10 defeat against The Jays trio of John and Heather Masters and John Williams while Oaks lost out 12-7 in a tight scrap against a Mudlarks trio of Liz Draper, Derek Blow and John Readman.

An 11-all draw with Dreamers was good enough to move Mudlarks up a place over Two Plus One, who had a win and a defeat but both teams have the same number of points.

Two Plus One’s success came courtesy of a ‘5’ on the last end of their 16-12 victory over In A Minute. But what goes around comes around and they then lost out to The Jays who grabbed five shots over the last two ends to nick a 10-7 victory. The Jays were the only team to win both their games and the four points gained moved them up two places to fifth.
