With four rounds of games played in the Louth Indoor Bowls Club’s summer morning triples each of the 10 teams have won at least one game and only two teams have won all four games.

Last year’s champions Highgate Wanderers maintained their 100 per cent record so far by winning 18-4 against Dreamers and just getting the better of Mudlarks by 16-11 to top the table on shots difference.

New team Yorkies also made it four out four with victories over Magpies (17-9) and luckless In Minute (21-4). Seagulls were the final team to record a win as they hung on to beat Magpies 14-11, but they remain bottom although sharing the same number of points as four other teams.

Closest game of the week was The Jays 16-15 win over Two Plus One, which kept the victors in third spot.

Paul Hayman and Linda Oldfield top the table of the Evening Pairs League with two wins from two games after their 19-4 victory over Barry Jordan and Marion Rose. They lead on shots difference from Keith Castledine and Debbie Castle, who won 22-13 against Noel and June Brougham.

Also with two wins from two games are Barry Mountain and Pauline Thornton, who came from 11-5 down to snatch a last-end 12-11 victory over Vic Matthews and Derek Tomlin.

Free ‘taster’ sessions are available through the summer for anyone who is thinking about taking up the game. For more details contact club manager Simon Reeson on 609227 on Tuesday or Thursday mornings.
