Louth motorcycle racer Peter Hickman is in good shape for the second round of the British Superbikes this weekend after positive testing session at Oulton Park.
Hickman took part in the third and final British Superbike test last Friday and recorded a position of seventh overall which sets him up nicely for the two races at the Cheshire track.
He was pleased with his results. “I had a mega day at Oulton today for the official test on my GBmoto Racing Kawasaki Team Green ZX10R and am really happy with my race pace,” he said.
After taking the win at Silverstone in round one, the second of his career in the British Superbike championship, Hickman is confident he can step up on the podium again this weekend.
And another win is not out of the question for the 29-year-old Louth-based rider.
The weekend’s racing begins on Saturday with the Superbikes out on track for two free practice sessions at 10.10am and 2.40pm.
On Sunday there is a final free practice session at noon for the riders to make their final preparations for qualifying which takes place from 2.05pm.
Monday is race day and the Superbikes have a 15-minute warm-up at 9.30am ahead of the first 18-lap race at 1.30pm, the results of which will set the grid for race two which is set for a 4.30pm start.
Sunday’s qualifying and Monday’s two races will be televised live by Eurosport 2.
