Five golden decades of motorsport will be recalled at Cadwell Park on Saturday and Sunday.
More than 200 classic cars are entered for the annual Wolds Trophy fixture which features 23 nostalgic races from historic single-seaters, sports cars, GTs and saloons.
Now in its fifth year, the Wolds Trophy was conceived as a celebration of Formula Three racing which launched the careers of countless motor racing champions, from Sir Jackie Stewart to Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.
Highlights include the Historic F3 class, covering the 1964 to 1970 1-litre ‘screamers’, which were driven by eventual Formula 1 rivals Jackie Stewart and Emerson Fittipaldi.
The Classic F3 races will feature 18 cars from 1971-1984, a period which saw Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and Cadwell Park owner Jonathan Palmer crowned British champions. Many of the cars competing will still bear the names of their original drivers.
