Members of Mablethorpe Running Club have been in the thick of the action this month.

Competing in the Louth Triathlon, Wayne Kew was among the 166 competitors taking in the 400m swim, 22km bike and a 5km run from the Meridian Leisure Centre , through Alvington, Yarburgh and Covenham St Mary and back.

Wayne beat his time from last year, came first in his Senior Male 50 category and 36th overall.

His times were: swim - 9 mins 24 secs, bike - 43 mins 28 secs, run - 23 mins 11 secs.

In the Lincoln Children’s Triathlon, brother and sister Archie and Ellie Rainbow were among more than 300 competitors at the Yarborough Leisure Centre.

Archie, 14, completed the 300m swim in 7mins 54 secs, the 6,400m bike race in 13 mins 13 secs and the 2,400m run in 10 mins 30 secs.

He clocked 32 mins 50 secs overall.

Ellie, 11, completed the 200m swim in 8 mins 50 secs, the 4,000m bike race in 14 mins 26 secs and the 1,800m run in 9 mins 40 secs.

That secured an overall time of 33 mins 52 secs.

Archie knocked five minutes off last year’s time and this was Ellie’s first triathlon.

The Hull Marathon saw Paula Downing completed her 53rd 26-miler.

The route took in the city centre and many surrounding highlights.

Paula was 109th in a time of 3 hours 26 mins 53 secs.
