Christmas hamper competition at Sandilands

ON WEDNESDAY 14 the 37 seniors at Sandilands Golf Club played in their Christmas hamper competition.

It had a stableford format and two divisions together with nearest the pin prizes.

All players enjoyed a ‘halfway house’ with a good selection of food and the usual hot drinks together with a ‘whisky chaser’ to keep the cold out!

Division A saw Keith Arkesden win with the best score of the day 43pts. John Robson came second with 40pts.

Alan Corah came third also carding 40pts but beaten on back nine countback.

Division B was decided on countbacks with all three placed players scoring 37pts. Jack Taylor came first, Peter Naylor second and Bert Clements third. Nearest the pin prizes went to Bert Clements, Barry Payne, John Conyers and Alan Edwards, on the 2nd, 10th, 13th and 17th holes respectively.

All the presentations were made by Seniors Captain Brian Marks.
