England call caps Ashton’s successful year

Louth golfer Ashton Turner has been called up to the English Boys training squad for 2012 and 2013.

The 16-year-old Kenwick Park player joins a strong list of English players for the training squad and has enjoyed a successful season.

He finished fourth on the Titleist/FootJoy England Golf Boys Order of Merit and has been capped at under 16 level and boys level.

Ashton won the Junior County Champions Tournament after winning the Lincolnshire Boys Championship, finished fourth in the McGregor Trophy, won five of his six games in the Boys Home Internationals and represented Great Britain and Ireland in the Jacques Leglise Trophy.
