A Gala Dinner was held at Louth Golf Club for the 50th anniversary of the club and hosted by the captains Andrew Wilkinson and Moira Barker.
Paul Brackenbury is one, of only three of the founder members still playing from 1965, starting as a junior, Paul gave a fascinating history of the club combined with his dry wit. The other two founder members still playing are Gerry Burley and Alan Blundell, the retired professional.
Mary Haynes gave a similar talk as the longest still playing ladies’ member having joined in 1974, 41 years ago.
The winners of the Alberg mixed foursomes stableford trophy were Andy and Jo Partridge with 38 points. There was a scrabble for the next third places, all on 33, second Keith and Linda West 33 (17b9, 15 b6); third Pat and Brian Castle 33 (17b9, 14b6); fourth Paul and Anne Brackenbury 33 (14b9); fitth Andy and Carole Craven 32.
