Kenwick Park golfer Jenny Baxter reached the final of the Central England Foursomes with her partner John Ward, of Woodhall Spa.
They came back from six down in one match to win at the 19th hole on their run to the final at Woodhall Spa.
They finished as runners-up after a close match which went all the way to the 18th green.
* Howard Fytche produced his best round of the year to win Division One of the men’s October medal with a score of 78-12=64.
Kieren Spencer-Chaplin came second on countback with an excellent round of 73-5=68 which was also the day’s best gross score, and Dave Coulam was third with 75-7=68.
Chris Dixon won Division Two with 82-14=68 from Mick Slowey (91-21=70) who was second on countback from Sam Atkin (89-19=70).
* The mixed pairs betterball for the Kenwick Salvers saw new partnerships formed with entrants not allowed to play with their regular partners.
Scoring was very tight at the top with a countback on 38 points separating the top three. Alan Smaggasgale and sister-in-law Pam Hayward won from runners-up Neil Pridgeon and Lesley Burton, and third-placed Rob Houlton and Tracey Stobart.
* The George Penrose Salver was played over six Thursday nights throughout the summer.
The winner was the golfer with the highest score from their best three rounds of nine-hole stableford competitions.
Junior Harry Wood, helped by a great 22 points in his July round, won with 57 points. Jim Dinsdale, John King, Mike Osmond and Nick Cudmore shared second place with 55.
* Heavy rain overnight preceded the annual match between the ladies and seniors.
The ladies were delighted to win by 10 matches to five.
