Louth AC members take part in Tough Ten road race at Rothwell

FIVE members of Louth Athletics Club attended the 30th anniversary of the Tough Ten road race at Rothwell, near Caistor, on Saturday September 1.

Weather conditions were good for the race, which started at 11am, and a large turnout meant there was plenty of competition.

Paul Jackson came in 1st for Louth with a time of 59.58 and 9th overall in the race, 2nd in for Louth was Keith Vickers in 70.22, Mick Dean was next in 75.32, Debbie Simpson in 77.00 and finally Steve Windsor 82.44, this was the first time that Debbie and Steve had run this race.

On September 5 was the 5th and final race of the season of the Wolds Dash Series. Sixteen members of the club attended the race which was won by Paul Jackson with a very impressive time of 25.46, Adam Dalton a senior runner was next for Louth with a time of 26.50, Andrew Thomas 27.50, Kevin Houghton 28.18, Mark Atkinson 30.04, Alan Johnstone 31.44, Debbie Simpson 32.33, Steve Windsor at 33.21, Trudy Roberts 33.37, Phil Jackson 33.51, Geoff Clarke 34.31, Jutta Meiwald 35.20, Rhea Timmins 35.26, Jane Cope 38.07, Simon Harrison 38.50, Lisa Harkess 39.18.

On September 9 five members of Louth AC competed in the East Coast Classic 10k race at Mablethorpe, the race is along the promenade from Mablethorpe to Sandilands and back a very flat course with good potential for a PB, but with a head wind going out and the excessive heat all runners did very well, Paul Jackson came in overall first with a time of 36.29, Stuart Craggs was next for Louth 38.32, Reah Timmins 50.33 Jo Jackson 53.00 who was pushing a pushchair with baby Jack inside fast asleep, this is the 3rd year that Jo has done this, Jayne Cope 56.19.

Louth AC meet twice a week, Tuesdays at 6pm at Cordeaux School and Thursdays at 6pm at London Road playing fields. New members always welcome whatever their age or ability.
