Louth-area kickboxers in world medal haul

Young kickboxers from the Louth area have kicked their way to a haul of medals from this year’s World Kickboxing Championships in Montreal, Canada.

A 120-strong team were sent from England, with a number of local success stories.

Jack Etches picked up bronze, silver and golf in the boys aged 13-15 individiual and team events, while Jamie Key won bronze and silver medals in the men’s individual and team.

Ross Coulbeck won a silver in the men’s Kata while Sophie Collinson earned a double bronze.

Isaebelle Leggett sadly narrowly missed out on a bronze medal bu just a tenth of a point in the girls’ 13-17 Kata.

The event was dominated by Canadian and American teams, but the local entrants acquitted themselves extremely well.
