Lightning struck twice in Louth Indoor Bowls Club’s Morning Triples League as Highgate Wanderers suffered a 12-9 loss at the hands of In A Minute.
They are the only team to have previously beaten the Wanderers, and it was the same trio of Charlie Briggs, Chris Nutton and Lydia Seward who did the damage again. They opened a 12-3 lead before Highgate won the final three ends, but it was too late.
Highgate won their other game, crushing Falcons 28-5, and still top the table, but their lead was reduced to four points as Yorkies won both of their games, beating Two Plus One 18-3 and the Falcons 18-7 thanks to a late burst.
The Jays remain four points back in third after their two victories, 18-10 over Mudlarks, and a last-gasp 13-10 win against Magpies as four shots were grabbed on the final end.
Seagulls are sill perched on the bottom rung, but edged two points nearer Falcons after getting the better of Two Plus One by 18-16 having previously suffered a 21-5 drubbing against in-form In A Minute.
The Dreamers trio of Barbara Shufflebotham, Isabelle Cook and Pat Wolley had the answers to everything the Magpies team asked and deservedly won 16-5, but they were then beaten by Mudlarks, 19-9.
