Louth Golf Club day for Friends of St James’s Church

ONE hundred and twenty eight players from 25 clubs took advantage of a brief respite in the recent heavy rains to enjoy their day, playing in the Louth Golf Club’s Seniors Open Day for Charity.

The format was a better ball stableford competition, and G Chester and R Murdy (both members at Louth GC) emerged as the winners with 43 points; 2nd A Underwood and J Edlington (Lincoln GC) with 41 points (21 on the back nine): 3rd S Hempsall and M Leverton (Louth GC) 41 points (19 back nine); 4th R Williams and S Watson (Driffield GC) 40 points (21 back nine); 5th H Greenwood and F Barnsley (Louth GC) 40 points (20 back nine).

The prize for the best visiting pair not already in the prizes went to I Dart and B Bailey (College Pines GC).

About £800 was raised on the day for The Friends of St James’s Church in Louth.
