Louth Golf Club held its annual captains’ drive-in as they welcomed new captains Mike Brader and Carole Craven for the next golfing year.
Members of the club and families of the captains cheered each skipper to the first tee.
Men’s captain Mike follows in the footsteps of his father Wilf Brader who held the role in 1980, and sent his drive 151 yards.
Carole, the club’s ladies’ captain for 2016 was cheered by all through an arch of raised golf clubs before reaching the first tee where her drive reached 121 yards.
The club wish them both every success in their year and thanked everyone for making the day memorable.
* A large field of Louth ladies played their fun competition Ow Yes They Do! last week.
This pantomime stableford had fun twists – a Fairy Godmother allowed a double score on one hole, the Ugly Sisters allowed two holes to be deleted, and Prince Charming allowed golfers to drive from one yellow tee.
M. Barnes won with 36 points, two better off than runner-up A. Taylor, while L. Elliott (33) was third.
P. Hayle pushed lady captain Carole Craven into fifth place on countback, both with 31 points.
L. West won the longest putt prize, holing from 37 feet on the 12th.
