LOUTH Golf Club have successfully won back the Town Challenge Trophy from Kenwick Part on home turf.
The event sees two representatives from each of the clubs’ eight sections, playing nine hole foursomes and an 18 hole fourball betterball.
As always it was competed in a friendly but competitive atmosphere and both Kenwick captains, Colin Burkitt and Ann Walker, praised the hosts for their hospitality and pristine golf course.
One of the strongest comebacks was in the afternoon betterball when ladies captains and vice captains drew after Louth were five down after 10 holes.
There is as ever a home advantage and the result was 15-9 to Louth.
Kenwick’s captain gave the statistic that in the 14 years since it was first played 1997 Louth have won nine to Kenwick’s five.
