THE Louth Indoor Bowls Club Men’s ‘A’ team suffered a late collapse in their county league match at Spalding to lose by 106 shots to 95.
The aggregate score had been close all through the contest and Louth had a great chance of gaining wins on three rinks and taking bonus points for an overall victory until it all went wrong on two rinks.
Alan Dent (Jnr)’s rink were 20-16 ahead but were blitzed by the opposition over the last four ends and lost by 11 shots.
John Welsh’s rink had been leading by five shots but eventually lost 20-17. Louth did manage to win on one rink with the four of Allan Dent (Snr), Harry Putland, Keith Kelly and Horace Cope winning 33-14.
In the club’s leagues JCB reclaimed top spot in the Wednesday/Thursday Morning Triples swapping places with Waltham who they beat 16-6.
Humberstone maintained a six-point lead over Chalkers in the Evening Triples as each team recorded a win and a defeat from their two games.
In division two TNT notched up two good wins to move level on points with Jaspers whose only game saw them beat Stags 15-10.
Rockset saw their lead in theThursday Evening Fours reduced to two points when beaten 16-12 by second-placed Chalkers.
