DESPITE winning on three rinks in their county match at home against Scunthorpe the Men’s Over 60s team still lost the aggregate by 96-89.
The Mixed ‘A’ team also lost at home, beaten 98-89 by Stamford as the visitors won on three rinks.
Last Saturday the Men’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams faced each other with, predictably, the ‘A’ team coming out on top by 108 shots to 70.
Although winning all on five rinks it was a closer contest than the score suggests with the ‘A’ team only ensuring victory by picking up extra shots over the final third of the match.
The club knockout competitions got underway last month starting with the Men’s Singles where Junior member Jack Goy won his first round match 21-13 against John Utnage but lost in the second round to R Dent.
Horace Cope made it to round 3 with good wins over K.Kelly and J.Darley.
In the 2-bowl Singles Goy lost 21-14 to J Welsh whilst Barrie Robinson just got the better of J Darley 21-19 which took 32 ends to find a winner.
