After two weeks at the Isle of Man TT, Louth motorcycle racer Peter Hickman headed straight to Donington Park for the Download Festival.
Hickman and his Trooper Kawasaki were specials guest of legendary metal band Iron Maiden and met the band before their headline set.
He got back on the bike for a two-day British Superbike test at Snetterton last week to acclimatise himself to riding on a short circuit after two weeks of racing on public roads.
“I had to get my head in gear after tearing round the Isle of Man at 200mph,” he said. “But luckily I was soon back in BSB mode and was pleased with eighth overall on day one.”
Hicky heads up to Knockhill, in Scotland, this weekend for the next round of the British Superbike championship with JG Speedfit Kawasaki.
Qualifying takes place at 4.02pm on Saturday to set the grid for Sunday’s first race.
The riders get a 15-minute warm up prior to the first 30-lap race at 1.30pm with the second race due on track at 4.30pm.
