Louth Tennis and Sports Centre had a clean sweep last weekend, winning five out of five team matches.

The ladies first team of Ruth and Looby, Sarah and Penny, Rach and Faye (pictured) travelled to St James, Grimsby and returned with a very convincing 7-2 win.

* The Louth ladies’ second team opened their season with a home fixture against Horncastle Firsts in Lincs League Division Two.

A very close game ended with a 5-4 win to the Louth squad of Claire and Helen, Carly and Brooke, and Looby with Judith.

* The men’s first team started their season at home to Burton Waters (Lincoln) second team in Lincs League Division One.

The hosts proved too strong and won 8-1. Ed Allinson and Alex Davis, and Seb Darke with Lewis Fisher won three out of three, while Joe Allinson and Marcus McVeigh secured two sets.

* The Louth senior men continued their winning ways with a 4-0 victory at home to St James, Grimsby.

The team of Nigel Knapton and Trevor Blades, and Ian Roscoe with Dibber Clark proved far too strong for their opponents, and look set to do very well this season.

* The under 18s boys travelled to Birmingham to play the Cardiff Tennis Academy in the National Premier League.

The team of Joe Woolly, Henry Beelsy, Ross Edgar and Seb Barker produced a great win on a tie-break shoot-out. A fantastic result and hopefully the sign of things to come for the boys.
