Motor racing fans set for a packed 2013 at Cadwell Park circuit

A packed race schedule of over 25 races will provide a bumper season for racing fans at Cadwell Park, near Louth.

The circuit’s calendar for 2013 features action almost every weekend from March until October and tickets are already on sale for every meeting.

The circuit’s annual MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship Bank Holiday weekend on August 24-26 is undoubtedly one of the highlights is certain to attract a huge crowd to Lincolnshire.

Triple champions Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari, riding for Louth’s Samsung Honda, go head-to-head in ‘the war for four’ BSB titles, but there will be many more riders ready to steal their thunder!

The four-wheeled season starts with the return of the popular Time Attack ‘beat the clock’ series for highly-modified cars on Easter Monday.

The following weekend sees more timed competition both on and off the tarmac, as the second Alan Healy Memorial Rally at Cadwell Park is held after a successful event last year.

Nostalgia fans will have four superb events to look forward to, covering both pre and post war eras.

The now-established HSCC Wolds Trophy on April 20/21 celebrates Formula 3 and also features saloon and sportscar racing, whilst the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club event on June 15/16 is the two-wheeled equivalent.

Those looking to delve a little deeper into the history books will want to earmark the Vintage Festival on June 8, an annual fixture at the circuit when the Vintage Sports Car Club holds the Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies.

The Vintage Motorcycle Club will hold their two-day event, which will see fascinating machinery dating back to pre-war times, on September 28/29.

And this season, access for spectators at this and all other meetings at the circuit will be better than ever, with a new footbridge providing a link between the pit straight and the hugely popular Mountain section.

In addition to these headline events, the circuit hosts packed programmes of club racing week-in, week-out.
