Louth racer Peter Hickman has joined Mistral Racing and joins teammates Steve Mercer and Jamie Coward to campaign the 2015 Classic TT races and will contest the four lap Motorsport Merchandise Formula One race on board a ZXR750 Kawasaki.
With the Cadwell Park round of the British Superbike championship being moved from its usual August Bank Holiday time slot this leaves Hickman free to take part in the Classic TT races which commence with practice from August 22 with racing set for Saturday, August 29 And Monday August 31.
Hicky joins the team on the back of a stunning TT debut in June of last year when he was eighth in the Superstock race and lapped at over 129mph on the last lap of the Senior TT taking 11th place at the flag to become the fastest newcomer in TT history.
Hicky said: “I am delighted to be able race at this year’s Classic TT with a top team and great motorcycle.
“The extra track time will help me as I am still learning the circuit but I am not just going there to make up the numbers and I realise the bike is capable of a top result.
“I am grateful to Ian Harrison and the team at Mistral Racing for this opportunity and I will be going all out to bring back a good result to repay them for their faith in me.”
