LINCOLNSHIRE Sports Partnership is looking to recruit a new Chairperson on a three year unpaid post.

The Chairperson will lead the board of trustees at the organisation when the current Chairman, Barrie Pierpoint, retires next year.

The sports charity organisation offers guidance and support to around 1,100 voluntary and community sports groups throughout the county.

Barrie has overseen the development, part-commercialisation, modernisation, growth, transformation and culture change at the partnership during his tenure.

The partnership said: “The partnership is looking for a dynamic Chair who has an understanding of the voluntary, community and sport sector, governance of a charity and charity law. The Chair needs to be a strategic thinker who is able to communicate and consult effectively. He/she must have leadership experience and be able to spend a minimum of one day per week to provide input into the growth and development of the organisation.”

The chair will guide the trustees and enable them to set overall policies, targets and evaluate performance.

Board meetings are held six times per year.
